Frequently Asked Questions

How Should I Shop For a Tuxedo?
You should pull out the telephone book and call as many tuxedo stores as you can- find out how much a basic tuxedo costs to rent. We recommend that you visit each store personally, because that is the best way to judge value. Tuxedos are suits, and there are many grades ranging from the lowest to designer labels. You should be interested in only one price: the total price that you pay to rent the tuxedo. Ask for the total price when shopping to disclose any hidden costs such as insurance or dry cleaning. Normally, shoes and a full-back vest will cost you extra.

Why is in-house inventory important?
In-house inventory means that the rental store holds all of its tuxedos in stock, rather than ordering out to somewhere else to obtain them for you. Any store can show you a catalog or have perfect displays, but true satisfaction comes from trying on your suit.

What should I do about the men in my wedding party who live out of town?
Most tuxedo shops perform courtesy fittings for out of town weddings at no charge. Send the men to a tuxedo shop in their area to be measured by a professional- not by a well-meaning relative. Remember: the tuxedo is only going to fit as well as the measurements.
